The Republican Party of Okeechobee marked Constitution Day week by delivering copies of the U.S. Constitution to fifth-grade students in Glades and Okeechobee counties.
The group hand-delivered on Tuesday 630 copies of the Constitution to fifth graders in Glades County Public Schools, Okeechobee County Public Schools, Okeechobee Christian Academy and Rock Solid Christian Academy.
Jim Craig, chairman of the Republican Party of Okeechobee, wearing a red Veteran for Trump cap, personally delivered the books and posed for photos with school officials.
The distribution comes in an area where Republicans make up a large share of the electorate. Republicans in Glades County makle up 60% of the 6,818 active eligible voters as of September following the August primaries, according to county election data.
Glades County also strongly supported President Donald Trump in the 2024 presidential election, with Trump receiving about 76% of the county vote.
